EXAMINATIONS

At Grays Convent High School we aim to give pupils the environment and support to enable them to produce their best in the examinations that matter. We look to build familiar routines and practices that allow pupils to fulfil their potential.

We use four main examination awarding bodies to teach and examine GCSE / NVQ / BTEC.  They are AQA, OCR, Pearson and WJEC.

As well as written exams, there may be 'Controlled Assessments' and Coursework tasks set throughout the year by the teaching staff. The Controlled Assessments are at 3 levels of control (high, medium and low) for each assessment stage.

It is, therefore, very important that students attend every single lesson as absence may mean that a student misses a Controlled Assessment, which can contribute towards their final grade.
